Tuesday, March 13 marks he day for the release of three highly anticipated CD’s…Rich Boy, Musiq Soul Child and Lloyd. All three hit up 106 & Park yesterday to promote their individual projects.
Rich Boy makes his debut on a self-titled CD. Riding high on the hit Throw Some D’s, Rich Boy has released a new single and video for “Boy Looka Here” which premiered on 106 & Park yesterday. Rich Boy has collaborations on his first effort with David Banner, Pastor Troy & Big Boi and Polow Da Don who also served as producer on the album. Hey even Kanye jumped on the remix to T.S. D’s. Rich Boy says video of the remix soon come.
Our favorite guy Musiq Soul Child is back with a new CD titled Luvanmusiq
Musiq spoke with SOHH on the reason behind the title. “ The reason I titled it Luvanmusiq is because I worked on 70 to 80 records and it was a real challenge to find a theme in the midst of all those records. So I figured how about I just find the most common thread between all of these songs.” “ I found that most songs I have are about love and relationships, that’s just a popular subject matter in my line of work. and I just put the two together—Love and Music.
Lloyd comes back with his sophomore CD titled Street Love. He’s already delivered two singles & videos for “You” & “Get it Shawty”. Both videos appear daily on 106 & Park, so the kids like seem to like it. But what about the entire CD. Lloyd fans can expect production from Jazze Pha, Dallas Austin & Brian Cox. Lloyd commented to SOHH on him being compared to other young
R & B artist. “People always ask me what separates me from the rest of the crowd, you know the Chris Browns, Omarions, the NeYo’s, the Bobby Vs of the world and I’m friends with all these guys, I love those guys. But the one thing I think that I can really do is, I bridge the gap between hip-hop & R&B. “That’s what you’re going to get on Street Love, we all are stars in our own right, but I be on that stuff sometimes.” The producers who lent their talents to this CD will have us all on the dance floor and singing along with Lloyd. My opinion: One day I caught Lloyd and Lil’ Wayne on 106& Park, they performed the song, “YOU”. Lloyd was awful, he’s not able to sing and dance, his vocals were outta here. So I wish him luck on his live performances in support of this CD.
Please go out and support our brothers and tell me what you think.
Till we meet again,
Faye
